Invited by Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries (FITMI), Defond participated the 2019 Asia International Innovation Invention Award and Exhibition held between August 6 and 8, 2019. The goal of the event is to promote innovation and creativity that helps industrial sector to explore growth potential and improve competitiveness.
Innovation is the core element of competitiveness in today’s “knowledge economy”, while intellectual property management is one of the most important measures to protect innovation competence.
In view of this, Defond strictly implement the Guangdong People’s Government’s notice on (Guangdong Government Notice (2015) No. 266) – To promote and apply Enterprise Intellectual Property Management Regulations, and provides guidelines for high-tech enterprises and industry leading enterprises to build up comprehensive, standardized intellectual property management system.
Defond has successfully passed the quality management system certification according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard in December 2019 for the newly established plant in Romania.
Defond was invited to participate in the MIT ILP Global Innovation Forum (Wuxi Station) held on Jan 7, 2020, with Chairman Mr. Wilson Chu as the honorary forum speaker. More than 100 leaders from government, world-renowned enterprises together with MIT faculty discuss emerging technologies that could reshape the future of industry.
With IoT technology getting more and more accessible, connected devices are gaining popularity, impacting people’s daily life. However, each major brand are developing their own connection standard, slowing down the pace of market adoption. OCF, being the world’s largest IoT international standard alliance, is dedicated to establish a common ground for IoT devices interconnectivity. Prestigious OCF members include Microsoft, Haier, Midea, Gree, LG, Hisense, Skyworth, Huawei, OPPO, Unicom, etc.
Defond adopted Tulip no-code IIoT native application platform to connect all automated production equipment, intelligent hardware, sensors and applied machine learning to generate computer vision with assistive user interfaces, which show production data with analysis.
In May 2020, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) conducted a review on Defond Laboratory in accordance with IEC/ISO17025:2017 and CNAS-CL01:2018 (Accreditation Criteria for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories).
In 2020, we are so privileged to participate in a joint-research program with The University of Hong Kong. This unique program is co-sponsored by HKSAR (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) Government’s Innovation and Technology Commission and targeted in acoustics and thermal areas with the objective to upgrade key performance (e.g. A low-noise device for cooling electronic components based on novel nickel hydroxide actuating materials).
Recently, Defond self-developed material distribution system was awarded utility model patent by China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
